Individual COOL:Gen users apply ObjectWare tools to increase their productivity at the workstation when reviewing and maintaining models. Teams using the tools are able to communicate more effectively when comparing models, creating deliverables or publishing contents of models.

ObjectWare products are integrated into the COOL:Gen open architecture and are developed using the Visual SmallTalk environment. These tools run under Windows NT, Windows 98/2000, and OS/2, and access the COOL:Gen MVS Central Encyclopedia (CE), the Client Server Encyclopedia (CSE), or local files using the COOL:Gen Application Programming Interface (API).
